The German Sauna Association

The German Sauna Association was founded in 1949 in order to spread the concept of sauna bathing in Germany, to promote scientific research and technical progress in the sauna sector, and to advise all members of the association who sell saunas or build sauna cubicles and to support them in their range of services.

The maxim of successful management and of competently responding to changing market conditions is only possible with sound know-how. The German Sauna Association is happy to provide this to its members.

Valuable scientific research work and targeted publicity campaigns have causes more than 26 million Germans are now among the sauna friends Around ten million German citizens go regularly, and another ten million go occasionally to the sauna. They have access to modern sauna baths with a high level of technology and with a top range of services.

Members of the German Sauna Association are public sauna and recreational facilities (municipal or private operation), hotels and boarding houses with sauna facilities, sauna cubicle manufacturers and trade companies, founders of new businesses, and persons interested in the concept of saunas.

The Association is a corporate member of the German Society for Bathing, the Federal Association for Health Education, the German Society for Recreation, and the Headquarters for the Fight Against Unfair Competition as well as a member of the International Sauna Society, located in Helsinki, to represent national interests in an international context.
